Position Summary
 
The Scholarship Manager and Program Associate will coordinate all aspects related to the scholarship program at the foundation. In addition, this position will perform a variety of administrative duties to support the work of the Foundation in relation to programmatic and grantmaking activities.
 
Duties
 
·         Manage scholarship program, overseeing scholarship awards from all Community Foundation scholarship funds.
·         Develop scholarship criteria, guidelines and application processes. 
·         Promote scholarship opportunities to ensure quality applicant pool.  Ensure timely follow up with scholarship applicants regarding the outcome of the award decisions.
·         Staff scholarship committees with the help of philanthropic advisors, schedule meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, document names of committee members and add insights into their deliberations.  Provide annual, comprehensive orientation to scholarship committees to ensure that scholarship award decisions are made within accepted standards and without conflicts of interest.
·         Assist Program Officers with the management of grant programs and related committees for discretionary funds at the Foundation. 
  • Communicate with the public about the foundation’s priorities for various scholarship and grant programs. Assist with periodic educational workshops about programs for nonprofit organizations and donor advised fund holders. Respond to queries from interested grant applicants.
  • Conduct fact-finding and research related to program interests and potential initiatives in the region.
  • Assist Philanthropic Advisors to provide research and analysis about community issues and nonprofits as requested by donor advisors.
  • Act as a public representative for the Foundation’s program related work. Attend community meetings, meet with other foundation representatives and community leaders about specific topics, and on other Foundation priorities. 
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with position.
·         Participate in regular staff and other internal meetings.
·         Perform other duties as assigned.

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks and timetables while maintaining focus; well-organized and self-motivated.
·         Minimum education:  bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
·         Minimum work experience:  three to five years in the nonprofit sector, experience with scholarship management and grantmaking will be an added advantage.
·         Familiarity with technology, ability to learn and adopt new computer programs, and ability to effectively integrate that technology into daily work.
 
Compensation and Benefits:
 
The salary for this position starts at $50,000 per year.  The total compensation package includes employer paid medical, dental and vision, employer paid disability and life insurance, paid time off and an employer 403(b) contribution.
