The Schultz Family Foundation, established in 1996 by Howard and Sheri Schultz, creates pathways of opportunity for populations facing barriers to success. By investing in innovative, scalable solutions and partnerships, the Foundation aims to help unlock people’s potential and in doing so, strengthen our businesses, our communities, and our nation. The Foundation focuses its efforts on two groups with enormous promise: the 4.9 million youth and young adults aged between 16 and 24 who are out of school and out of work, and the 2.8 million post-9/11 veterans and the approximately 250,000 service members that will transition from active, National Guard, or Reserve duty back to civilian life each year.
The Grants Administrator will support Program Officers in making new grant awards and collecting reporting documents and data from current grant recipients. S/he will be responsible for grant administration from application to grant closeout and will support program and senior leadership data requests on a routine basis.
The Grants Administrator reports to the Special Assistant to the Executive Director and serves as a key resource to program staff.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Working with Program Officers to process grant payments
  • Maintain accurate and current data in grants management system, including contact updates, activities/site visits, and grant cycle information
  • Set up and monitor grant payments and reporting schedule, offering reminders to program staff and grantees on the status of reports outstanding and reports due. 
  • Generate grant, financial, program, and other reports as requested by Board and staff
  • Draft correspondence and documents, including award agreements
  • Ensure data integrity in the foundation’s Fluxx database
  • Maintain relevant electronic and paper records. Conduct periodic audits to ensure quality and completeness of data entered
  • As needed, conduct the due diligence that is required in the grant review process, providing consistent application of statutory and internal requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Minimum of three years professional experience in a database or grants management related role, preferably with non-profit and/or a foundation,
  • Superior organizational skills and detail-oriented with attention to accuracy, deadlines and ability to prioritize.
  • Keen analytical and critical thinking skills with an eye towards system improvements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with grants management systems (preferably Fluxx)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Results-oriented with the ability to set and follow realistic goals and objectives
  • Flexibility to adapt when faced with changing needs and priorities
