Job Description:

 

In support of Full Life Care’s mission, this associate will engage with constituents; write and coordinate content for various communications channels; manage projects effectively within the communications and development team; and coordinate components of fundraising events.

 

Compensation Range: $22+,DOE, plus benefits

Hours per week: 40

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Learns and effectively applies the agency’s voice, style, and brand;
  • Curates content and stories for our digital and print publications: generates and pursues content ideas; interviews staff, clients, and families; writes and shares drafts; takes photos; incorporates feedback from editing staff;
  • Manage social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram, to engage constituents with Full Life Care’s mission and work and to widen the base of potential donors, consumers, employees, and volunteers;
  • Coordinates an ongoing communications schedule for the agency, including social media activity, blog, print and e-newsletters, directs mail for fundraising events and appeals;
  • Contributes to the annual communications strategy and planning process, and the annual development plan;
  • Supports fundraising events and development colleagues in developing collateral, table captain and sponsor recruitment and communication, works with vendors, committee meetings, donor and volunteer recognition, and other duties as assigned;
  • Manages projects with poise, initiative, careful attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines;
  • Maintains an archive of all communications pieces;
  • Keeps accurate records of one’s work;
  • Exhibits a positive, friendly demeanor and ability to interact with diverse groups and individuals; projects a professional manner and appearance appropriate to the audience;

Qualificational Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area such as English, writing, or journalism, or comparable training and experience;
  • Two or more years’ related work experience, particularly in writing and project management in the nonprofit sector;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to discern what is appropriate for various audiences; ability to communicate accordingly with speed and confidence;
  • Proven ability to manage and move projects forward through all phases from start to finish;
  • Proficiency with PCs including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;
  • Interest to exercise initiative, ownership, and to collaborate with others;
  • Ability to travel to Full Life Care’s sites throughout King and Snohomish counties;
  • Interest and concern for Full Life Care’s mission and community;

Prefferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of health and social services for older adults and adults with disabilities;
  • Working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop;
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) and/or relational databases;
  • Familiarity with nonprofit development record keeping and best practices;
