Compensation:  $17 - $18.50/hour Depending On Experience

Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in the north and east King County, WA. With service centers in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Shoreline and Sno-Valley (Carnation), we are the largest nonprofit organization in the area.  Hopelink programs and services focus on five key areas: food, financial assistance, housing & family development, adult education & employment and transportation/mobility. Programs are aimed at helping people achieve stability, and helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.

Responsible for daily banking activity,  preparing deposit entries, monitoring of accounts receivable, updating and reconciling grant update worksheets, preparing invoices and reports for funders, journal entries and accruals, supports Accounts Payable and Receivables, and other duties as assigned by Controller.  The ideal candidate brings strong excel skills, some experience with accounting software, great listening skills, an eagerness for learning/growing the position, and a willingness to take initiative. 

Essential Functions:
• Completes bank deposit working on online banking desktop deposit system as well as cash deposits.   
• Sets up and uploads bi-weekly Positive Pay transactions.
• Sets up and enters Cash Receipts and Accounts Receivable payments.
• Monitors Accounts Receivable and payments.
• Maintains Petty Cash.
• Maintains Grant Expense Worksheets and reconciles to General ledger.
• Prepares financial reports and invoicing for submission to funding sources.
• Prepares monthly contribution reports including but not limited to: Coinstar, Stock Donations, and etc.
• Prepares monthly Revenue Accruals.
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; Reconcile general ledger accounts as needed.
• Uploads monthly Financial Statements and General Ledger Detail reports to shared drive.
• Responsible for Iron Mountain file maintenance.
• Assists in training program staff on Cash receipting. 
• Assists with annual audit.  
• Supports Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Associates degree in business, accounting, or related field; work experience may be substituted with demonstrated ability to understand accounting work.
• One to Two years general office experience, preferably in accounting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent detail and organizational skills
• Strong background in excel and working with various formulas including If , Vlookup, Pivot Tables, and etc.
• Ability to multi task and has initiative to take assigned tasks to the next level.

Licenses, Certificates and other requirements:

• Must pass criminal background check through the State Patrol.
• Reliable personal transportation.
