As a Portfolio Relationship Manager (PRM), this position will cultivate, solicit and steward donors at $5,000+ and leadership donors at $50,000+ of lifetime cumulative giving.

This position has a social justice component that requires critical thinking through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. Knowing the core principals of antiracism and grounding those principles in everyday work are required job skills and core values. As an equal opportunity employer, we highly encourage people of color to apply.

Cultivation and Stewardship

In close collaboration with the Associate Director of Major Gifts, the Chief Philanthropy Officer and development team members, the RMGO will manage the implementation of an annual cultivation and stewardship plan for regional portfolio prospects and donors. This will include participating in major and leadership donor events and site tours, preparing written materials, ensuring timely acknowledgements, and engaging/guiding other staff and board volunteers in their stewardship roles.

The RMGO will personally solicit major donors through face-to-face visits and written proposals, including partnering with board members, community members, program staff or executive staff as appropriate. They will actively manage and document relationships, proposal status, actions and notes to assure accurate, timely and consistent donor engagement and communications.

Prospect Identification and Discovery

In collaboration with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Prospect Researcher & Writer and other major gift team members, this person will identify donors and prospects with additional interest and capacity, including stewarding annual fund donors to become major donors, and major donors to become leadership donors. They will identify direct avenues to reach out to current prospective donors, and will conduct discovery visits with donor prospects.
