Our Congregation

Congregation Eitz Or is a small Jewish Renewal Congregation in Seattle WA. We are the only congregation in the area affiliated with the Renewal Movement (see Aleph.org). We currently do not have a single regular location but do have several facilities we can utilize for services and events. We also have home-based services and events. Our primary rabbi travels from the Bay Area and has been with us for over a decade. He leads us for High Holy Days and at least two Shabbatons a year and possibly one or two smaller events. We also work with several local rabbis and lay leaders.

  • Familiarity, comfort and skill working with groups in a cooperative and egalitarian manner.
  • Able to organize, coordinate and promote services and events as scheduled in our annual program (usually one event per month except during High Holy Days).
  • Enthusiastic about Jewish communal life, Judaism, and maintaining and promoting an egalitarian Jewish Renewal community in Seattle.
  • Able to connect and work with others in the Seattle Jewish community and beyond.
  • Excited about the potential for Jewish Renewal as a way to bring younger Jews into affiliation with organized Jewish life.
  • Skill writing, designing and managing membership email communications (we are currently using Mail Chimp and Yahoo Discussion).
  • Skill maintaining/updating, copywriting, editing, designing and troubleshooting website (we currently use WordPress), and social media (Facebook).
