Communications Manager: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington & Alaska 
Primary Functions
Manage House communications, design and media relations. Be a participating member of the fundraising team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Writing and Communications
  • Write and edit newsletters (print and online), blog posts, family stories, Annual Report and press releases.
  • Manage the RMHC website, including generating all content, updating site as needed and editing images. Excellent WordPress skills required.
  • Manage social media by establishing and carrying out communication plans and schedules primarily on Facebook.
  • Manage email communications, including scheduling, designing and writing them. Working knowledge of email marketing platforms required.
Design and Photography:
  •    Provide in-house design for newsletters, annual report, collateral, special events,   etc.
InDesign skills required.
  •    Photograph, edit and catalog family and special event images. Photoshop skills required.
Media Management:
  • Oversee RMHC brand and style guidelines
  • Act as media contact
Community Outreach:
  • Act as spokesperson at community events to share the RMHC story
Essential Qualifications
  • Strong skills in writing, editing and design and a working knowledge of HTML. Skills in WordPress, InDesign, Photoshop and email marketing platforms are required.
  • Experience managing social media
  • Strong interviewing skills. Ability to interact with families in challenging situations while maintaining professional relationship
  • Strong project management skills (ability to manage workscope independently, work on deadline, synthesize input from multiple sources)
  • Experience with media relationships or as a spokesperson
  • Four-year college degree in Communications or Marketing with at least 3 years of experience in the field
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large and small groups
  • Ability to work as part of a team
